What happens with a
Burial in the Ground?

Background dividing line 1

One Burial in the Ground (body burial) is - in contrast to cremation - the burial of the human body in the ground. In Germany, this form of burial is only permitted in a cemetery. In Judaism and Islam, burial in the ground is the only permitted form of burial. In a burial in the ground, the body is buried in a coffin. Over time, the body of the deceased decomposes and becomes part of the earth again. This fulfils the cycle of becoming and decaying. For the next of kin, the choice of coffin, headstone and burial site is a major task. We are LESCH Bestattungshaus and can help you in word and deed.

Row grave or elective grave -
What is the difference?

Background dividing line 1

If you as a relative decide in favour of burial in the ground, you are initially faced with the decision between a row grave and an elective grave. What is the difference? A Row grave is a single grave, a Elective grave can also be used as a family grave. Many people opt for an elective grave. This gives them the certainty that they will be laid to rest alongside their deceased partner or family members in the event of their own death. Depending on the cemetery regulations, there are different terms and conditions for in-line graves and elective graves, which we will be happy to advise you on.

How much does a Burial in the Ground?

Background dividing line 1

The question of cost is of course a decisive factor for many relatives when choosing the type of burial. A burial in the ground is generally somewhat more expensive than an urn burial because the cost of the coffin is added to this and the grave requires more space. The location of the grave in the cemetery also influences the price. If you choose a simple type of burial, you will have to expect costs from 3,500 Euro should be taken into account. Other cost factors include the scope of the funeral service, the cemetery fees and the choice of headstone. We would be happy to work with you to determine the costs of a burial according to your wishes. We, the LESCH Funeral Directors in Hanover, Sarstedt and Seelze, will be happy to help you with this.
